Barnard Zine Library

About

Barnard’s zines are created by women and non-binary people, a collection emphasis on zines by women of color and a newer effort to acquire more zines by trans women. We collect zines on feminism and femme identity by people of all genders. The zines are personal and political publications on activism, anarchism, body image, gender, parenting, queer community, riot grrrl, sexual assault, trans feminisms, and other topics.

All of our zines are free: zines about the Barnard Zine Library, how to cite zines, and zines by other people including the Zine Librarians Code of Ethics and How to Make This Very Zine in multiple languages. We also give out buttons and stickers IRL.

BZL Zine Acquisition Form

We are looking to buy zines by BIPOC women and transfeminine people and by trans women of all races and ethnicities. We want to pay or trade for two copies of your zine(s)–one for preservation and one for access. Most of the zines in our library are on the lower end of the production scale, not costing more than a few dollars to create. If you think your zine is in scope, please fill out this form, and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdNr_u9vzfEX_egrJtAZwtkGMuJdB9YIkCLMwXCUlY5MF0T1A/viewform
