About
My name is Maira (may-ruh) and I am a neurodivergent non-binary person making my way through the world. I work in publishing and live with my boyfriend and our dog. I love karaoke and King of the Hill. I have been making zines for almost ten years now and find them immensely therapeutic. I am also a zine fest organizer (East Bay Alternative Book and Zine Fest -and- Bay Area Queer Zine Fest).
My zines cover the intersections of my identities, and mainly consist of me working through my mental illnesses and gender identity. I write a lot about anxiety. Some of my work is more light-hearted (Karaoke Zine, Zine of the Hill, Dog Tinder), but it all deals with the same issues. I make a lot of mini zines and love telling stories within the confines of seven tiny pages.
