Overcommunicate is a magazine by and for queer women, non-binary folk, and gender diverse people. I collect in submissions of artwork and writing from people around Aotearoa (New Zealand) and from overseas, and I publish a selection in each issue. Five regular issues have been published so far, along with two mini-zines of poetry. Each regular issue contains a range of artwork, comics, poetry, essays, short stories, and more.
I’m a queer high school teacher from Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa (Auckland, New Zealand). As well as teaching, I also run my school’s queer group, and run professional development sessions for my colleagues on creating rainbow-inclusive spaces for our students. Outside of work, I sing in Auckland’s rainbow choir, but most of my spare time is spent on the zine I create, Overcommunicate.
