Hello Magnolia Print Shop is run by Mel, a printmaker, zinemaker, and photographer based in Portland, Oregon. Hello Magnolia began as a photography project in 2019, and has since expanded into additional mediums: traditional block printing, creative writing, and zine creation.
Mel’s multidisciplinary background leads them naturally into a land of crossing and combining mediums in their zine work. The outcome tends to fall into the perzine category, though you’ll also be able to find themes of poetry, photography / art, mental health, comics, and a lot more!
Some of the latest titles out of Hello Magnolia: Fish Guts, 20-pages all about tinned fish, Eye See It Now, a story for folks who wear eyeglasses, and Unlucky Charms, a block printed mini zine about perspective. If you’re interested in collaborating with Hello Magnolia, join Art Club (for free) to stay up to date on the latest project opportunities!
