ink Y hilo

ink Y hilo is run by Lauro, an artist and zinemaker. The name “ink y hilo” is a reference to their primary mediums of printmaking and textiles. They often incorporate both mediums into their zines with collage, found objects, and paper ephemera. Lauro’s work is often inspired and informed by things that bring them joy and expand their understanding of the world we live in. Their work often takes cues from Chicana art theory, particularly domesticana in their visual iconography and how they source and use materials. While they primarily publish in English, Lauro’s more personal work often utilizes Spanglish and Spanish.
