Lex Kartanė is a disabled non-binary artist and zine maker whose work explores themes of disability, neurodiversity, queerness, survival, and kinship through intimate, handcrafted zines and illustrations. Rooted in a deep love for animals and a passion for disability justice, Lex’s creations blend personal storytelling with activist heart, often highlighting the resilience of marginalized beings. Committed to accessibility and inclusivity, their work invites readers into worlds of softness, care, and radical tenderness.
Originally from Lithuania and accompanied by their support dog Ragis, a survivor of animal testing, Lex channels their lived experiences and intersectional perspective into zines that are equal parts art and manifesto. Their practice challenges conventional narratives, celebrating disability and the beautiful complexity of queer and neurodivergent lives.
